Tiffin sambar





Ingredients:

Tuvar dal -------------------1/2 cup
Onion -----------------------1 small size ( finely cut )

Carrot -----------------------1 small size ( finely cut )
Potato -----------------------1small size  ( finely cut )
Tomatoes--------------------2 small size ( finely cut )
Green chillies --------------2-3 nos (half cut )
Turmeric powder ----------1/4 tsp
Lemon juice ---- -----------1 tbsp
Mustard seeds -------------1 tsp
Cumin seeds ---------------1tsp
Red chilly ------------------1 no
Curry leaves ---------------few
Coriander leaves ----------few
Asafoetida -----------------1 pinch
Oil --------------------------1tbsp
Salt -------------------------to taste


Method: 

Take a cooker, add  tuvar dal, carrot, potato, onion, green chillies,
tomatoes, turmeric powder and 3 cups of water and close the lid. 


Cook for one whistle and simmer for  3 minutes.Once cool down,
open the cooker add salt and let it boil for 1- 2minutes.

Temper with mustard, cumin, asafoetida and red chilly.


Then add lemon juice.  Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves.
