Tomato chutney

                                                                                    
                       


Ingredients:                                                                                                          Serves 3

Tomatoes----------------- 4 nos (medium size) diced
 Big Onions---------------3-4 nos (medium size) diced 
             Or
Small onion---------------1 cup(Skined &cleaned)
Red chillies -------------- 4 -5 nos
Curry leaves ------------- few
Tamarind ----------------- amla size
Cumin seeds-------------1/2 tsp
(Jeera)
Mustard seeds------------1tsp
 (kaduku)
Oil -------------------------5-6 tbsp (gingelly oil )
Salt ------------------------ to taste

To Fry:



Heat a pan on medium heat and take 2 tbsp oil.

Fry the red chillies, curry leaves in it. 

Then fry the onion with salt.

When onion  becomes transparent in color.

 Add tomatoes, tamarind and mix it well.

After tomatoes are cooked, remove from the pan and cool the content.

Now grind with little water and transfer  to the bowl.

For Tempering:

Take a small pan and heat in medium flame.

Add remaining oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds.

When  it  pops, pour into the grounded chutneyin  the bowl.

And your Tomato chutney is ready to be enjoyed with idli and variety of dosas.
