Vendakai puli kulambu

 Ingredients:

Ladies finger ------------- 200 gm(cut into 1 inch length)
Tomatoes------------------ 2 nos( medium, finely cut or made paste)
Onion ----------------------2 nos (medium, finely cut)
      or
small onion----------------1cup
Mustard seeds ------------1tsp
Fenugreek seeds ----------1/2tsp
Cumin seeds --------------1/2tsp
Turmeric powder ---------1/4 tsp
Coriander powder --------1 tbsp
Chilly powder ---- --------1/2 tbsp
Cumin powder ------------1tsp (jeera powder)
Sambar powder -----------1 tbsp
Tamarind ------------------lemon size(use 2 cups of water to take juice)
Oil -------------------------3 to 4 tbsp
Curry leaves --------------few
Coriander leaves ---------few
Asafoetida ----------------1/4tsp
Salt ------------------------to taste

Method:

Cook the ladies finger in microwave for 2minutes  or heat a small pan in medium flame,  add ladies finger pieces and 1/4tsp salt.

 Saute for 2 to 3 minutes and remove from the pan.

Heat the oil in a kadai or vessel add  mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and  let them splutter and add cumin seeds, asafoetida,turmeric powder.

 Now add slightly cooked  ladies finger pieces and saute for 1min. 

Then add  tomatoes, chilly powder, Coriander powder, cumin powder, sambar powder, salt and mix it. 

Add tamarind juice and let it boil for 2 minutes. Then simmer the flame to cook till the oil separates (it takes around 10 -15 min). 

Garnish with curry leaves,and coriander leaves.

Vendakai kulambu is tastes good with rice and chapatti.
