 Method

Add all ingredients to make dhokli into a bowl, make a dough and keep it aside.

Cook the dal with 1 1/2 cup water. After a whistle simmer it for 3 minutes.

In a separate kadhai add oil plus ghee and add cloves, cinnamon, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and asafoetida.

Fry for a minute and add the cooked dal,add 3 cups of water, green chilies, jaggery, kokum or tamarind, peanuts, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, garam masala powder, grated ginger and salt and mix well.

Once the dal starts boiling simmer it,meanwhile take the dough and make small balls out of it.

Roll it into rotis (it can be thin or thick as you like it, the thinner it is the better it tastes. Some like it thicker too)

Cut into diamond sized shapes and put 1 by 1 in
to the boiling dal.

Make sure not to put all of them together as it might stick to each other.

Once you have put all the dhoklis in the dal let it cook for 2 minutes.

Lastly  add the lemon juice and switch off the gas.

Garnish with coriander leaves and  Serve it hot.
