Tomato Pavakkai



              





 Ingredients:

                       



Pavakkai
(Karala)--------------------250gm

Tomato--------------------150-200gm (big size in 2 no s)

Onion----------------------2 no s (big in size)

Chili powder--------------2tbsp

Turmeric powder--------1/4tsp

Sambar powder-----------1tbsp

Tamarind juice-----------100 ml (from lemon size)

Jeera powder 

(cumin seeds powder)--1tsp

Oil--------------------------2tbsp

Gingelly oil

(sesame oil)--------------2tbsp

Salt-------------------------to taste

Mustard seeds------------1tsp

Jeera (cumin seeds) -----1tsp

Ginger garlic paste-------1tbsp
Coriander leaves----------few

Jaggery

(vellam)-------------------small amount

Method:

                    

Heat a cooker in medium flame, add 2tbsp oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds.After mustard seeds crackling, add onion,  ginger  garlic paste and mix well.

               
 Add  Pavakkai, tomato, and  sauté for 1 min.

              

Then add chilli powder, jeera  powder, turmeric  powder, salt  cook for 1min. Now add tamarind juice, mix well, close the cooker lid.
Cook for one whistle in medium flame and  slow flame for 2 min.
Once the cooker cool down, open the  lid, transfer the content to a pan.
                              


     
Cook the content in the  pan  with  sambar powder, sesame oil and jaggery in slow  flame for 2-3 min.



Garnish with coriander leaves
